Join us for a Slow Living Weekend 23-24 August. Our staff will be dressed in attire from bygone eras as they demonstrate traditional tasks. Younger visitors can explore our collection of box cars and other outdoor toys for endless entertainment. In the pasture, horses peacefully graze and the Icelandic Settlement Hens run wild around the museum grounds. Free admission for children up to 18 years, people with disabilities and holders of the Reykjavík Culture Card. Everyone is welcome! Accessibility: The museum’s footpaths are mainly gravel. Many historic houses have steps and thresholds. Service dogs are welcome. Public Transport: Nearest bus stop: Árbæjarsafn (1-minute walk). Other stops: Laxakvísl and Fagribær (5–6 minutes away). Free parking, including blue-badge parking spots opposite the entrance, is available.
