Klambrar bistro is located in one of the most unique buildings in Icelandic architecture, Kjarvalsstaðir. The connection to nature at Klambratún and the artistic creation of Jóhannes S. Kjarval gives us a strong inspiration in the kitchen.

Klambrar bistro has the special position of being located in the center of Jóhannes S. Kjarval's art museum, Kjarvalsstaðir. The name of the place refers to the town of Klambra, which was located where the art museum stands today. The farmer in Klambrar used the sheepfolds to slaughter the neighbors and soon the demand for meat became so great that a meat shop and later a smokehouse were opened. The town was full of food and a lot of life and excitement. It is therefore fitting to honor the town's history by running a restaurant with a reference to its name.
