Reykjavík Pride 2014 has started

Reykjavík Pride 2014, one of the biggest annual festivals of the year, started yesterday and will run until Sunday. The festival is now held for the sixteenth time and has grown bigger each year. Reykjavik Pride is an important event for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Iceland. The festival promotes visibility and courage and provides a platform for the LGBT community to manifest their pride before their fellow citizens. The biggest event is the Pride Parade that takes place on Saturday and last year 60.000 people came to participate or show their support.
