On this weekend is the annual Reykjavík Folk Festival. This is the 8th time the festival is held, and like the years before the venue is Kex Hostel.

The idea behind the festival is to celebrate the diversity of the Icelandic folk music scene by mixing together artists of different ages and styles. Over the course of three days, 12 artists will perform. These include Pétur Ben, Teitur Magnússon (also member of Ojba Rasta), Árni Vil (of FM Belfast) and the legendary Icelandic pop-rock icon Bjartmar Guðlaugsson.

Tickets can be bought online, as well as by the door. You can buy tickets for individual nights for 3.300 ISK or a three-day pass for 6.600 ISK. All concerts start at 20.00 (8 p.m.)
