Population of little Iceland increases
Little Iceland is growing a little bit but there is still plenty of room to roam.
The number of people living in Iceland increased by around half a percent during the first quarter of this year to 366,130 people, according to figures from Hagstofa Íslands (Statistics Iceland). 1,450 more foreign nationals moved to Iceland in January to March this year than moved away from the country, while 40 more Icelandic citizens moved away than moved back home during the same period.
During January, February, and March, 1,080 babies were born in Iceland and 620 people passed away.
