Gerðarsafn- Kópavogur Art Museum

Gerðarsafn is a progressive museum with an emphasis on modern and contemporary art, located in the heart of Kópavogur. Gerðarsafn offers temporary exhibitions with works by Icelandic and international contemporary artists as well as displaying the museum collection.

The Kópavogur Public Library consists of two branches. The main branch at Hamraborg 6a and the Lindasafn branch at Núpalind 7. The two branches share the same vision: to provide an attractive space where guests enjoy spending time, browsing the collection and attending various events.

Kópavogur swimming pool has been on of the more popular swimming pools in Iceland in the last years. The swimming pool is one of the larger pools in Iceland. In 2008 a large part of the pool was renovated.

The Natural History Museum of Kópavogur is a part of the Kópavogur Cultural Houses. The 600 m2 exhibition area is at the ground floor of the Museum house, which the museum shares with the Kópavogur Public Library.

Salurinn, or Music Hall, is the first specially designed concert hall in the country. It was opened on January 2, 1999. The Kópavogur Music Hall is part of the town's cultural center, which stands in Borgarholt next to Gerðarsafn and in the vicinity of Kópavogur Church, one of the town's main symbols.

Kópavogskirkja is a church in Kópavogur, Iceland. It is located on Borgarholt hill at the top of Kársnes and offers a great view over Kópavogur, Reykjavík and the surrounding area. Work on it began in 1958 and it was opened on December 16, 1963. The architectural style of Kópavogskirkja is modernist.
