Kiðafell farmhouse

We have horses of different temperaments, enabling both novices and experienced riders to have an enjoyable and safe ride.

Horse rides are available from the beginning of June to the end of September. We do not cater to large groups as we do not own a large string of horses. Our accompanied rides are open to guests and non-guests alike, in the latter case it is advisable to telephone ahead and reserve, though they try to accomodate those who just turn up. We can provide helmets, boots and warm clothing.

Festival of the Sea

Festival of the Sea is an extension of Fishermen’s Day which is held on the first Sunday in June. The festival celebrations take place on both Saturday and Sunday, with the events on Saturday being referred to as Harbour Day. The festival reflects traditional Icelandic culture and the nation’s long-standing dependency on fishing.
