Unndór Egill Jónsson is an artist who creates unique furniture from Icelandic birch, blending natural and geometric forms. The concept behind his work revolves around merging these contrasting shapes in a way that each supports the other, creating a sense of unity. Craftsmanship plays a vital role in achieving this fusion. To emphasize its importance, Unndór has set up his workshop within the exhibition space. Here, the artist’s tools take center stage, as they are essential for shaping the material. The furniture is crafted on-site, emerging piece by piece over the course of the exhibition. The pieces embody time, nature, craftsmanship and the concept from which they emerge. The exhibition is part of DesignMarch 2025. The exhibition is sponsored by Safnasjóður
