Þórdís Erla Zoëga
Hi/Bye – Bye/Hi
“Nothing disappears completely. Everything is in a state of change, taking on a different form in time.”

For Museum Night a two-sided work by artist Þórdís Erla Zoëga will be projected on the outer wall of the museum, as well as within the museum, brightening up the environment of the museum with a temporary installation. Þórdís graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2012 and she has exhibited her work widely, both in Iceland and abroad. In her practice, she often deals with the digital sphere, routines and courses, by making use of various media.

6 p.m.
Afternoon Concert at Hafnarborg – Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio
Sunna Gunnlaugs Trio will perform at the first Afternoon Concert of the year 2023 at Hafnarborg. Alongside pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs, the trio is made up of contrabassist Þorgrímur Jónsson and drummer Scott McLemore, but together they will play select tunes from their previous albums, as well as new material. In recent years, the trio has performed both in Iceland and abroad, being well received for the way they combine the European lyrical tradition with the sounds of American jazz.

8 p.m.
Yoga Hour for Everyone – Anna Rós Lárusdóttir
A mix of uplifting yoga poses for balance and strength, as well as stretching excercises, set to a fun Friday playlist. At the end, the focus will be on relaxation and soothing music. The session is centred on Hatha Vinyasa yoga, emphasising mental and physical wellbeing. A moment of calm meditation before heading refreshed into the weekend. The session will be led by Anna Rós Lárusdóttir and it will take place in the main gallery of Hafnarborg, amid the powerful sculptures of Sóley Eiríksdóttir, bearing titles such as Exercise, Stance, Somersault, etc.

9 p.m.
Guided Tour of Our Current Exhibitions
We invite you to a guided tour of our current exhibitions with Aldís Arnardóttir, Director of Hafnarborg. She will then take guests on a walkthrough of exhibitions Amuse, with works spanning the career of Sóley Eiríksdóttir (1957-1994), and Untitled, featuring rarely seen works by Eiríkur Smith (1925-2016). This is the first time that exhibitions of works by this father-daughter duo are presented at the same place in the same time.

Free entry – everyone welcome.
