A new video work by Þóranna Björnsdóttir will be projected on the east side of Kópavogur Church during the Winter Festival from 18pm – 23pm, Friday evening February 3 and Saturday evening February 4.

Þóranna's video work is in conversation with the esoteric art of Gerður Helgadóttir and the all-seeing eye that can be found in several of Gerður's artworks, including proposals for an altarpiece for Kópavogur Church. In her work, Þóranna works from new video recordings of the eyes and gaze of almost one hundred Kópavogur residents. The gaze, quick, curious, searching, sharp and all-seeing will play around the outside wall of the church during the Winter Festival in a dreamlike work that reminds us of the immensity of the mind and the inner life. Artist Vikram Pradhan assisted in the creation of the piece.
