Christmas Celebration with Icelandic Youth Environmentalist Association

The Icelandic Jule Lads visit the library and learn how to become more environmentally friendly! They will happily accept some used toys and things that children bring from home and give the Lads for a shoe gift recycling.

The vegan Jule Creature Hafraþamba will also visit us and show the Yule Lads new ways to become more environmentally friendly.

The musician and environmentalist Jökull Jónsson will also join us and show us how we can give gifts that are both good for the environment and the Christmas spirit, by playing joyful Christmas tunes on the piano.

At the end, right before the lightning of the Oslo Christmas Tree on Austurvöllur, Hafraþamba will serve her favorite drink, hot chocolate with oat milk.

We encourage everyone to write down ideas for the Yule Lads, for environmentally friendly shoe gifts, at the Yule Lad Workstation. The station will be open and accessible until Christmas, both to bring shoe gifts, and not least for the Lads to pick up shoe gifts to pass on.
