The Color Run – The Happiest 5k on the planet!

This Saturday, The Color Run by Alvogen will take place in downtown Reykjavík, with approximately 12.000 people expected to participate in the fun. The Color Run is an untimed 5km event where runners are splashed with different colored powder at each kilometre and unlike most races the idea is not necessarily to finish first, but to brace the unique experience and enjoyment of the run itself.

Participants start the run in white t-shirts but can be sure that those shirts won’t be all that white when they finish. In the end-zone there will be even more color bombs, great music, dance and entertainment. The event will start and finish in Hljómskálagarðurinn by the Reykjavik pond. The scene will open at 9am with the run set to start at 11am and the festival is expected to last until 2pm in Hljómskálagarðurinn.

This world-wide phenomena is being staged in more than 300 cities in over 50 countries all over the world and is considered to be the world’s largest event series. It is the second time it is hosted in Iceland and returns after a very successful debut, being a sold out event last summer with 10.000 participants.
