THE REYKJAVÍK CHILDREN'S INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2014

Fun, films and family entertainment coming up at The Reykjavík International Children's Film Festival!

The festival opens on March 20th at the city’s Bíó Paradís movie theatre in Downtown Reykjavík and runs until March 30th. During the festival a number of interesting films, animations, documentaries and shorts (for children of all ages) will be screened in addition to some special events and exhibitions.

For the entertainment of the young ones, Karsten and Petra Becomes Best Friends (2013) by Arne Lindtner Næss will be screened, and for the teens Manga horror animation classic The Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000) by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Amongst the classical specials The Kid by Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd’s entertaining Safety Last will be screened.
Photography of times gone by will be on display during the festival, with the opportunity to see never-before-screened films from the Icelandic Film Archive, and to give children an insight into the fascinating history of cinema the captivating Camera Obscura will also be on display.

Festival patron Mrs. Vigdís Finnbogadóttir (former president of Iceland) will be present to open the festival, together with the mayor of Reykjavík, on Thursday the 20th of March.
