Countdown to Iceland Airwaves

One of Reykjavík's finest music festival, Iceland Airwaves, begins tomorrow and is on until 5 November. The festival showcases the cream of Icelandic talent from Ásgeir to JFDR, Auður and Mammút alongside Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes, Sigrid, Michael Kiwanuka, Songhoy Blues, Billy Bragg, Benjamin Clementine, Arab Strap, JFDR, Kelly Lee Owens, Aldous Harding and many more.

Additionally, the third edition of the festival's Airwaves Talks is taking place this year in Reykjavík. Airwaves Talks is an eclectic mix of discussions, events, movie screenings and music happening at Bíó Paradís 1st to 4th November. We can look forward to screenings of the iconic battle of the bands film 'Rokk í Reykjavík' featuring a young Björk to afternoon shows spotlighting Icelandic talent such as the 2017 Músíktilraunir winners Between Mountains and guest talks with Ólafur Arnalds on 'Island Songs', The Sugarcubes' Einar Örn on the Promogogo app and his life in music plus William Doyle (East India Youth) leading a discussion about mental health in the music industry. Events are open to all Iceland Airwaves wristband holders unless stated otherwise. There are also many off venues in Reykjavík during the festival.
