MAR restaurant is designed to deliver fresh and uplifting dining experience, unique to the harbour area. The restaurant is a great choice for individuals and groups alike. We have seating for up to 80 guests on the inside, 40 on the outside patio and opening hours from lunch to late evenings. We offer special lunch and dinner menus in addition to the popular aperitivo during the day.
Hafsteinn Júlíusson and Karítas Sveinsdóttir of HAF designed the concept of MAR restaurant. Their main inspiration in the design is derived from the name MAR, an old Icelandic and Latin word for the sea. Together they worked closely with Sveinn Þorri, head chef, and Jón Ingi, restaurant manager, to create the right ambiance for the restaurant.
