Lighting of the Oslo Christmas Tree 2017!

The Advent this year will be formally launched on 3 December at 16:00, with the lighting of the Christmas lights on the Oslo Tree in Austurvöllur.

Musicians Katrín Halldóra Sigurðardóttir and Sigurður Guðmundsson will entertain guests by singing beautiful Christmas carols along with great musicians. Reykjavík´s Brass Band will start playing music at 15:30.

The event will be hosted by the lovely Gerður G. Bjarklind and the program will be translated in sign language.

The SLF´s Rehabilitation Center, Órói will deck the tree this year with the theme Askasleikir (The Icelandic Yule Lad, Bowl Licker), which was designed by Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon (Goddur). Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir has written the poem for this year´s event.

The Red Cross will be selling coffee and hot chocolate to keep everyone warm.
