Let‘s help the ducklings

Let‘s help the ducks take care of their young ones – do not feed the ducks with bread.

Visitors to the Reykjavík Pond should be respectfully reminded that during the next couple of weeks ducklings are hatching and the ducks are taking care of their young ones. We therefore ask guests not to feed the ducks with bread during this sensitive period. While feeding the ducks can be fun, it does also attract the gulls which pluck up the ducklings and eat the eggs.

By stopping breadfeeding people are playing their part in protecting the ducks and ducklings.
