On January 20th 2018, a new exhibition will open at Reykjavik Museum of Photography. In the exhibition, titled „This Island Earth“, five photographers living in Iceland will turn their gaze toward Icelandic Nature in all its glory. Since the beginning, landscape photography has been a leading force in the Icelandic photographic scene, and its key mission has been to promote Iceland internationally and to preserve Icelandic national identity.  The exhibition is named after an old sci-fi movie, since the photos on display all share an otherworldly atmosphere found in futuristic and fantasy movies. No wonder that NASA astronauts trained for their Moon buggy expeditions in the Icelandic lava fields, huh?

The artists are Stuart Richardson, Kristín Sigurðardóttir, Claudia Hausfeld, Pétur Thomsen og Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir. Curated by Katrín Elvarsdóttir.

The exhibition will be on display from January 20th to May 6th, 2018. Open daily until 18.00 (6 pm.) and 17.00 (5 pm.) in weekends.
