Galleries
Galleries, both public and commercial, show a vast range of visual arts, from classics of Icelandic art to avant-garde works by contemporary artists, and exhibitions by visiting artists from abroad.
The largest concentration of art galleries is on Skolavordustigur and around Laugavegur, in Reykjavik city centre. Admission to the galleries is generally free.
