Iceland’s Nikita Designs for Snowboard Giant K2

Icelandic fashion designer Nikita is designing snowboards and bindings for K2, one of the largest snowboard manufacturers in the world. Nikita is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

Rúnar Ómarsson, one of Nikita’s three owners, said it was always the plan that the company would grow and progress through the years. “The success may therefore not be all that surprising but we are very satisfied with it,” he told Fréttabladid.

Nikita’s products are now available in around 1,500 stores in more than 30 countries. Nikita opened a flagship store on Laugavegur, Reykjavík’s main shopping street, last year.
