Increased Flight Supply from the US

Icelandic airline Iceland Express is launching flights between Iceland and New York next summer. Ticket sales have already begun and the response has been immense. CEO of Iceland Express Matthías Imsland claims that more than 25 percent of seats the airline was planning to sell on the domestic market were sold in the first 24 hours.

Iceland Express will fly between Keflavík International Airport and New York (Newark) four times a week from 1 June to 31 August, 2010.

New York is the airline’s first destination in the US, while Icelandair has offered flights to New York and other US destinations for a long time. Recently, Seattle was added to the Icelandair’s list of destinations.
