Iceland Express Launches New UK Route
Following the successful launch of the London Gatwick to Reykjavik route, Iceland Express is making another addition to their UK schedule.
The low-fare airline has set its sights further north and is commencing a new service between Birmingham Airport and Keflavik Airport, Reykjavik.
With Iceland becoming an ever popular destination, the new route aims to cater for the increasing demand for flights leaving from other areas of the UK.
“Launching this new route is an exciting development for Iceland Express. We are seeing high consumer demand for travel to Reykjavik and are confident our amended schedule will be a success,” says Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO. “We are proud to be able to serve another UK destination and look forward to working with Birmingham Airport. Our new route will make flying to Iceland more convenient for people living north of London and we cannot wait to begin the service.”
The new route is due to kick-off during the peak summer months in 2010. The service will initially run once-a-week, every Sunday, for around 13 weeks.
