Advent in Kopavogur

The beginning of Advent will be celebrated in Kópavogur on 26-27 November. A program for the whole family will be offered at the Culture Houses, Hamraborg 4-6. A little Christmas market will take place at the outdoor area at Gerðarsafn Art Museum where gourmet food, hot drinks and crafts will be sold.

The family program on the 26th starts at Gerðarsafn Art Museum at 13:00 where Christmas cards and lanterns will be created. At 14:00 a music program for families will be offered at Salurinn concert house and at 15:00 the Icelandic Christmas Cat will be on the agenda at the Library and Natural History Museum.

At 16:00 the lights on the Christmas tree will be lit and to add to the festive spirit musical groups will perform at the outdoor area, Yulelads along with other good guests will entertain.

On Sunday the 27 November the market will be open from 13:00 - 17:00 and at Gerðarsafn Art Museum the Christmas cards workshop will be offered. The Library and Natural History Museum will be open.

The town of Kópavogur is located in the greater capital area, with Hamraborg centre at about 4 km from Reykjavík centre.
