Description: Gallerí Ágúst is proud to announce the opening of the solo exhibition of Einar Garibaldi Eiriksson, Grand Tour / 1998 - 2010, on Saturday 13th of February. Grand Tour consists of found paintings or “Tableaux Trouvés” which the artist has been collecting for the past dozen years from various cities in Italy. The title of the exhibition refers to the grand tour travels of the past when young aristocratic men would visit the cradle of European culture and study art, language and literature. Einar Garibaldi Eiriksson lives and works in Reykjavik, Iceland. He studied at the Iceland College of Art and Crafts and graduated from Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milano, Italy in 1991. Einar has kept a good contact with Italy and exhibits there regularly. He has participated in and curated numerous exhibitions as well as being a professor at the Icelandic Art Academy for many years. His work can be found in the collections of the main museums in Iceland. He has received numerous honors and stipends during his career.
The exhibition Grand Tour is on view until the 27th of March.
